We take pride in offering you only the best wool. Recently, our Cormo wool has been getting a lot of attention. We have received grand champion or reserve grand champion consistently throughout the upper Midwest. Judges and customers consistently comment on the cleanliness, uniformity and strength of our fleeces. We are overwhelmed and so excited about this great response to our Cormo wool.

Every fleece we sell get the same attention as our show fleeces. I am very fussy about vegetable matter and fleece quality. I don’t like to spin poor wool, and I do not want anyone else to either. We take great care in offering only the best and cleanest wool we can. Every fleece is heavily skirted whether it is sold raw or as roving and yarn.

Below is a listing of just a few of our wool products. Some is available only in limited quantities on a first come first serve basis so do contact us for availability or to be placed on a waiting list. We guarantee our wool and will happily refund your money for wool in the same condition as we sent it, if you do not feel we represented it accurately. Just contact us immediately upon receipt, and we will make arrangement for it’s return. We believe very strongly in the quality of our wool.

This is by no means an exhaustive list of our offerings so be sure to check for our booth at the fiber festivals and farmer’s markets listed on the calendar. I always have some special yarns or handmade items on hand.

We have also begun to add wool and other natural fibers from other small farms to our line up. These fibers come from carefully selected producers we feel have similar philosophies as us. So be on the look out for some great new yarns and spinning fibers from some of our friends.

  Covered Cormo Fleece  

Covered Cormo Fleece

Limited quantities of fresh Cormo fleeces available very spring. Coated year round unless otherwise noted. These are very clean and include only the prime part of the fleece under the coat. Average adult fleece weight is between 4-6 lbs. The staple length is usually 4-5.” Lamb fleeces which are covered only after weaning (late Sept) will weigh 2-3.5 lbs. Lamb fleeces are usually shorter approximately 3” and do have the lamb tips, but are very clean and very soft.

Combed Cormo Top

Have you ever spun a cloud?

This top is as close as you can get. Unbelievably soft, smooth and so white.

This top is great in all its natural glory, but imagine creating your own rainbow dyed top for a project that is uniquely yours.

Cormo Wool Yarn

Cormo yarn is so soft and springy. We usually have cormo yarn available in a 2 ply light sport weight and a 3 ply worsted weight. We have natural white or some individual hand dyed yarns.

Blue Hills Blend Yarn

This yarn is a special blend of our cormo wool and alpaca from a good friends herd of pampered alpacas. Available in a variety of natural colors-browns, charcoals, grays and white-and some special hand dyed skeins. 70% alpaca and 30% cormo wool this yarn is just the right blend to bring out the best qualities of both fibers. Sold in approximately 4 oz skeins with about 250yd/ skein.

Springfield Meadows Yarn

The wool in the sport weight yarn comes from a shepherd friend of our who has a beautiful commercial flock . The wool is blended with alpaca and mohair for a nice yarn suitable for hats, mittens sock and many other projects. Available in white and hand dyed colors. We also have a similar yarn that comes in a variety of colors. Random weights and yardages.
